John Butz has been a professional actor for nearly forty years as well as a Professor of Speech and Theatre Arts at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa.  His roles onstage range from Shakespeare to Neil Simon and Gilbert & Sullivan to Sondheim.  He believes that actors need to be acquainted with more than one acting philosophy in order to be well prepared for any role, and although it is work, an acting class should also be fun.
