“THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA ” CASTING BREAKDOWN

The Covina Center for the Performing Arts is casting the Los Angeles Regional Premiere of  “The Light In The Piazza” Brady Schwind (dir), Phil Miller (prod.), Patrick Copeland (mus. dir.), Imara Quinonez (choreo.)  Rehearsals begin December 9th. Performances run January 20th-Febuary 15th at the multi-million dollar Covina Center for the Performing Arts.

Seeking-

Margaret Johnson-LEAD, female 45-50, Legit Soprano ranging from G below middle C up to G#, Southern accent, elegant, warm, appealing, excellent actress

Clara Johnson- LEAD female 20-25, strong youthful/legit soprano ranging from low A, strong belt/mix to high E with nice ring, Southern accent, playful, classic American beauty, youthful, utterly open and charming, mental and emotional skills of a 12 year old

Fabrizio Naccarelli- male 20-25, Italian Accent, Lyrical Tenor to high B, dashing, handsome, pure, sweet Italian. Must have strong command of Italian

Giuseppe Naccarelli- male 25-35, baritone to E, Italian Dialect, Fabrizio's Older brother, speaks only in Italian, strong actor/mover

Franca Naccarelli- female 25-32, Legit Soprano to F, Giuseppe’s wife, passionate, sexy, speaks largely in Italian

Signo Nacarelli- male 45-55, Baritone to G, Italian accent and dialogue. Fabrizio’s father, epitome of Italian gentlemen, speaks English very well.

Signora Nacarelli- female 45 to 55, Legit Soprano to C, primarily speaks in Italian, Fabrizio’s mother, traditional Italian wife

Roy Johnson- Baritone to E, male 45-55, Southern accent, Margaret’s husband, emotionally unavailable and cool.

Ensemble­- Seeking an ensemble of 2 men (20-50) and 2 women (20-50) and 1 female child (10-12) to play multiple roles. Must be strong singers with excellent harmony skills.

Auditions will be held by appt. only on November 18th, 19th, 20th An Open Call will take place on Saturday November 22nd from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Callbacks will be held on Tuesday, November 24th and Wednesday November 25th at the Director’s Request. Prepare 32 bars of modern musical theatre piece, or appropriate material. Music from the show is allowed. An accompanist will be provided.
